Life Saving Rules
The Life Saving Rules at Gulf Industrial Services (GIS) are non-negotiable safety standards designed to prevent fatalities and serious injuries. These rules represent critical safety behaviors that every employee, contractor, and visitor must follow without exception. Violation of any Life Saving Rule may result in immediate disciplinary action, including termination of employment or contract.
ZERO TOLERANCE
These rules are non-negotiable. Everyone has the authority and responsibility to STOP WORK when these rules are not followed.
SAFE SYSTEM OF WORK
Work with valid work permit when required and follow its requirements.

- Ensure all safety requirements are met
- Verify hazards are identified and controlled
SAFETY AT HEIGHT
Protect yourself against fall when working at height 1.8 m & above. Inspect your harness prior to use. Always observe the 100% tie-off.

- Replace damaged or defective PPE
SAFE LIFTING OPERATION
Follow prescribed lifting plan. Do not walk under a suspended load or do not enter a crane lifting zone.

- Maintain three points of contact
- Never work alone at height
CONFINED SPACE ENTRY
Obtain authorization before entering a confined space. Make sure you have completed safety training on Confined Space Entry.

- Maintain constant communication
HAND SAFETY
Our Hands are the only best tools we can use in our lifetime. We need to always protect our hands from any hazards as our hands cannot be replaced ONCE it is severely injured or amputated.

- Verify zero energy state
- Use personal locks and tags
SAFE HANDLING OF HPWJ
High Pressure Water Jetting. Only trained and certified workers shall do HPWJ job. Comply the HPWJ procedures and hazards controls. Wear the required PPE’s and ensure withdrawal guards are installed.

- Wear seatbelt at all times
- Follow speed limits and road conditions
SAFE DRIVING
Only company authorized and licensed driver shall operate the vehicle. Inspect the vehicle prior to travel. Follow all the traffic rules on the road and inside the plant.

- Clear area of combustible materials
- Have fire watch and suppression ready
CHEMICAL AND HAZMAT HANDLING
Follow the materials safety data sheets procedures. Use appropriate PPE when handling or shifting chemicals and hazardous materials.

- Ensure proper storage and disposal
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Ensure to follow governmental regulations, environmental permits, and other environmental requirements. All waste transport is in accordance with the regulations.

- Use certified equipment and operators
- Maintain safe exclusion zones
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Always comply the wearing of mandatory and task PPE. Before starting to do our task, check first and don your personal protection.

- Support others who stop work for safety
